Bottom line: the Li Auto L7 corridor was repriced in November 2025 when Li Auto entered Russia officially. The L7 Ultra now carries an official Russian guide price of RUB 8.39 mln (≈RMB 762,000 at the source’s own conversion) against a Chinese MSRP of RMB 359,800 — a documented price spread of ≈2.12× at the rate of the announcement, or ≈1.81× converted at the September 2026 rate. The spread is real and at the top of our watchlist, but it is a list-price gap, not a pocketable figure: the official channel embeds clearance, certification and warranty, and the parallel-import route that once captured the gap is closing.
Why this model
The L7 is the volume core of Li Auto’s L-series — the family of extended-range SUVs that produced the loudest overseas premiums of the parallel-export boom (our first Model Watch documented the L9 at roughly twice its domestic reference in Russia). Until late 2025 Li Auto sold exclusively in China, so every overseas L7 price was a parallel-import artefact. On 2025-11-18 the company received Russian OTTS type approval, and on 2025-11-26 it published official guide prices for the L6, L7 and L9 — turning this corridor from rumour into documented list prices on both ends.

| Russia | Li Auto L7 Ultra | RUB 8.39 mln ≈ RMB 762,000 | Official guide price (fully cleared, incl. VAT) | Li Auto Russia price list of 2025-11-26, via Sina Tech (2025-11-29) |
| Russia (context) | L6 Pro RUB 6.890 mln ≈ RMB 626,000; L9 Ultra RUB 9.490 mln ≈ RMB 862,000 | — | Official guide price | Same list; RMB conversions as given by the source |
Documented price spread: Pro-to-Pro ≈2.31× (RMB 301,800 vs ≈RMB 698,000); Ultra-to-Ultra ≈2.12× (RMB 359,800 vs ≈RMB 762,000), using the source’s own ruble-to-yuan conversions from the announcement window (implied rate ≈0.0908 CNY per RUB, dated 2025-11-29). Recomputed at the 2026-09-05 rate the same list prices give ≈RMB 597,600 and ≈RMB 652,000 — spreads of ≈1.98× and ≈1.81× (all derived 2026-09-05). For context, the parallel era: 21jingji reported the L7 at ≈RMB 514,000 in Kazakhstan against a ≈RMB 330,000 domestic reference (≈1.56×) — the official Russian list is set far above that old parallel level.
Both ends are new-car official prices: Chinese national uniform retail against Russian official guide pricing. No wholesale print, used listing or grey-market quote enters the ratio. The two rate bases are shown separately because the yuan strengthened against the ruble between the announcement and our check — both spreads are correct at their own dates.
FX rate used
FX records: (1) RUB/CNY ≈0.0908, dated 2025-11-29 — the conversion embedded in Sina Tech’s report of the Russian price list; (2) RUB/CNY 0.07771 (1 CNY = 12.8681 RUB), dated 2026-09-05, source Exchangerate-API (open.er-api.com, updated 2026-09-05 00:02 UTC; USD/RUB 86.588, USD/CNY 6.7289). Spreads at both dates are reported above; quotes should be reconverted at the payment-day rate.
Scope and methodology
- China price = national uniform retail price for the 2025 smart-refresh (智能焕新版) L7, on sale 2025-05-08 with pricing held from the January 2025 adjustment. MSRP, not a discounted transaction price — Chinese market reporting of ≈RMB 286,800 street prices for the Pro indicates the gap widens from the Chinese side.
- Russia price = official guide price published 2025-11-26 for the official Russian channel, described by the company as fully cleared and compliant, with factory warranty (3 years/100,000 km vehicle; 8 years/160,000 km battery and electric drive; 6 years/100,000 km anti-corrosion) and a Russian SIM included.
- Price types are never mixed, and no arbitrage route is implied by the ratio: the official channel’s costs (clearance, certification, warranty, distribution) are inside the Russian sticker by design.
- The parallel route is a different series. Pre-December-2025 parallel-imported units keep full functionality; for units moved later, the company’s own statement warns of possible diagnostics and partial functionality problems — one more cost the official list price quietly contains.
The cost stack between the Chinese price and the Russian sticker
For a buyer weighing any route (official purchase in Russia, or a private import of a Chinese unit), the components inside or on top of the gap include, among others:
- Russian import duty — vehicle-dependent, commonly a 20–25% band depending on engine and age (trade reporting, grade B).
- Import VAT (20%) — on the duty-inclusive value; roughly 20% plus the duty effect, depending on the taxable base.
- Utilization (recycling) fee — from RUB 667,400 to about RUB 800,800 for a typical 3–5-year-old personal-import car on 2026-01-01, with annual indexation to continue; different schedules for commercial imports and engines above 3.0L (grade B reporting — confirm per vehicle).
- Type approval and certification — OTTS approval is what makes the official price possible; a private import needs its own clearance path (for EAEU-first routes, 2026 practice adds the gap between Russian duties/VAT and lower EAEU payments onto the utilization fee — importer reporting, grade C).
- Shipping and inland logistics — RoRo/container plus rail/truck legs into Russia.
- Inspection and export documentation — China-side used-car export inspection if the unit moves through the used-car channel.
- Software localization and modification — lighting, language, connectivity for China-spec units.
- Dealer margin, finance, warranty and registration — embedded in the official guide price; replaced by your own cost and risk on any private route.
- FX — the ruble’s swing between the two documented rates above moved this spread by roughly seven percentage points of the sticker on its own.
Why the spread exists — and who captures it now
Russia’s import-cost wall (duties, VAT, utilization-fee indexation, certification) sets a high floor under any imported car’s price; the brand’s premium position in the vacuum left by retreating Western brands lets the official list sit near the old parallel-import peaks (the L9 Ultra at RUB 9.49 mln ≈ RMB 862,000 is level with the ≈ RMB 900,000 peak-era parallel reports we documented in 2024); and the official entry itself converts what used to be trader margin into compliance, clearance and warranty value inside the sticker. The consequence for buyers: the documented spread is the widest on our watchlist, and it is precisely the part that cannot be pocketed by an end buyer — it prices the legal route in.
What a buyer should verify before paying
- Which channel and which price. Official Russian list, parallel-import offer, and Chinese MSRP are three different markets; pick one pair and stay in it.
- Import date of any parallel unit. Units moved before December 2025 keep full functionality; later units risk diagnostics and partial feature loss per the company’s own statement.
- The utilization-fee line for the exact vehicle (engine, age band, private vs commercial) before modelling any private import.
- Date of the comparison. Between 2025-11-26 and our check the ruble moved enough to change the converted spread by a full ratio step; recompute at payment-day rates.
